• Parent drop in information Tuesday 16th May

  Please find below the Power Point from this morning's parent drop in. It explains a little about our new writing scheme - read to Write. From the Autumn term, all units that the children will be covering, will be on the website. We will have a parent session in the Autumn term for parents to come in and see the English lesson in action in class.

  

• Year 6 'end of SATs experience'

  As a reward for all their hard work during their time at Thythorn, The Friends of Thythorn (FOT) kindly funded an inflatable obstacle course for Year 6 for the afternoon. The children had great fun! This is something that they would like to do each year going forward.

  

• Anti-bullying GOLD award

  We are very excited to let everyone know that, as a school, we have achieved the Leicestershire Anti-bullying GOLD award. This is down to lots of hard work and teamwork this year from our children, staff team and working with parents. There are three levels to the award and we have achieved GOLD at our first attempt. The assessor was impressed with our 'No Outsiders - Everyone's Welcome' work and also with the work our well-being ambassadors in Year 5 and 6 are doing with the rest of the school. The award acknowledges that, at Thythorn Field, we work hard to address any bullying issues that arise and to work in partnership with our whole community to support our children to feel safe at school.
