This week we are learning about Peru.

Watch the Peru video below and talk to your child about what they have learnt about Peru.

Look for Peru on the map and then talk about how you might get there.

Create a piece of artwork inspired by Peru. Maybe you could design a poncho based on their traditional clothing?

Phonics

Today we are learning the new sound 'c'.

Show your child the 'c' sound and then encourage them to practise writing it independently. We use the letter formation rhyme "curl around the catterpillar" when we are writing it.

Provide your child with a number of objects and ask them find which ones begin with 'c'.

Write the following words down and ask your child to read them by sounding them out and blending the sounds together.

Maths

This week, we are learning about the number 7.

Watch the Numberblocks video below and talk about how 7 represents the 7 colours of the rainbow. The colours go in order red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and all of the Numberblocks before 7 make up the previous colours (1 is red, 2 is orange etc.). We can use our knowledge of what the Numberblocks look like to help to remember the order of the rainbow.

The create a rainbow picture with the help of the Numberblocks to get the colours in the correct order.
