Phonics
Today we are practising our reading.
Go to phonicsplay.co.uk and log in using the username ThythornEYFS and password thythorn.
Find Picnic on Pluto and select any sounds that your child is confident with.
Encourage your child to read the words and identify if they are real or fake.
Maths
Today we are thinking about Numberbonds to 7. Give your child 7 toys and ask them to split them into two groups. Work out the sum together and write it down.
Ask your child to rearrange them in a different way and record that sum.
Continue the activity until you have found every way of making 7.
Write two opposite sums next to eachother (e.g. 6+1=7. 1+6=7) and ask your child what they notice. Explain and demonstrate that you can swap the numbers over when adding and the total remains the same.
