►Phonics

Today I would like you to practise your segmenting.

Blue challenge: go to phonicsplay.co.uk and log in using the username ThythornEYFS and the password thythorn. Go to Phase 2 resources and click on rocket rescue. The site will say a word and then segment it together and ask your child to write it down. Type the letters into the website based on what your child says (they could help you to find the letters if they are confident) and then it will gradually build a rocket based on the correct answers.

►Maths

Today we are learning about tens and ones with regard to teens numbers.

First, write the numbers 0-19 on pieces of paper and count along with your child. Then ask them to point out specific numbers, focussing on the teens numbers.

Watch the Numberblocks video below and then write down the numbers 10-19 on pieces of paper.

Ask your child to say the number on a card and then say that it is "one ten and _____ones" (e.g. 13= one ten and three ones)

Repeat with lots of teens numbers and then ask your child to write some of the sums down (e.g. 15=10+5)
