Good Morning Year 1 laugh

I really enjoyed our little zoom meeting yesterday, thank you for those of you who came and asked for help with your phonics and tricky sounds. It was lovely to chat to you and help you with your work.

Thank you for sending me lots of lovely updates on your learning by using your SEESAW accounts, it is really nice to hear your voices, see your videos and look at pictures of your amazing work. I can't wait to see what super work you complete today with your grown-ups, keep working hard! I am so proud of how hard you are working! laugh

The zoom meeting tomorrow (Thursday) morning 10-10.45 will be a reading focused session. Would you like to come along and read a little of your book to Miss Martin? Would you like help with your tricky sight words? Would the grown-ups like to discuss anything about your child's reading? I am here to help. Remember I will only allow one person in to the zoom at a time, so if you join and I am helping someone else you may have to wait for a little while.

►EXPRESS YOURSELF! - CREATING CONTENT

EXPRESS YOURSELF!! - As part of Children's Mental Health week, I though it would be good to spend some time carrying out the challenge as explained in the video below.

Task - Can you talk about a chosen subject for 30 seconds with no gaps? 30 seconds non-stop talking, wow that's a challenge!

There is another task in the video, but you do not have to do that if you do not want to.

► MORNING WORK

► PHONICS

In the video Miss Martin and George will introduce you to a new phase 5 sound each day and re-cap the phase 3 and 4 flashcards. For the lesson you will need either a whiteboard and pen or a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Enjoy! laugh

► ENGLISH

Today in English we are going to complete a reading comprehension all about what a train driver does. There are three different challenge levels today, so you can choose which one you would like to complete.

BLUE WORK - back 1 step challenge

GREEN WORK - regular challenge

PURPLE WORK - forward 1 step challenge

These levels of differentiation, for some pieces of learning, will ensure that your child can access teaching and learning that is pitched correctly for them. If you are not sure which colour to do then please email your teacher.

Today in Our topic lesson we are going to be learning a little bit more about George Stephenson. We will be looking all about his life and his inventions, thinking about why he is an important individual in today's society. Below Miss Martin has done a video of the presentation and put it below so you can look thorugh it again if you wish to. By the end of the lesson we are going to create a fact file all about George Stephenson and why he is a significant individual.
