► GREETINGS

Good Morning Year 6.mp3

► DAILY REGISTER

► TIMETABLE

► WARM-UP ACTIVITY

So far, we have practised multiplication skills via times tables, and inverse skills, fractions and decimals.

Today, we are going to use multiplication skills when calculating area.

Let's flashback to your knowledge of area learnt in Year 5 just before that Christmas.

► FIRST SESSION

► IT'S BREAK TIME

It's time to oxygenate the brain and energise - you've been sitting for far too long. Get up and move! Dance like nobody is watching!

► GRAMMAR BITE!

We need to revisit conjunctions again and use them more effectively when writing sentences.

Exciting writing needs sentences of varying lengths, detail, complexities and punctuation.

Let's see if we can be more effective writers!

By now each piece of your writing should routinely include the skills below.

This would mean you have the very basic skills, and prior to Year 6 skills, needed for writing.

Use this as a check list to help you edit first drafts and improve final drafts.

However, to be working at a Year 6 pupil's writing standard, you also need to include all of these skills too.

Some of them you will include without really planning it or realising, but they will be in your writing. smiley

You need to specifically plan now, know the skills that are required, and build them into your writing so that they become commonplace, just like the WTS standards.

Where you have gaps; skills not included, you can take ownership of your learning and choose a skill not used as your mini-target.

We are currently looking at cohesion: number 5; ways of joining sentences and phrases together.

Grammar

► SECOND SESSION

Spelling

We've looked at the spelling pattern of cious and tious, but this week I want you to use and apply those skills  independently.

How much do you remember?

Reading - Deductive Skills

Select the correct text for your group.

You can challenge yourself and go onto the next group's text if you wish.

You all have the same questions.

However, if you are normally start in blue group and move onto green group work, you answer blue and green sections. You can do purple as well if you wish.

If you are normally green group and move onto purple, have a go at all questions.

► IT'S LUNCH TIME

Munch on Monday! Find different textures of food groups to crunch and munch. Eat Al Fresco if the weather allows!

New! Outdoor Learning!

To continue with our Beautiful Oops theme:... If the weather is good, why not try a little 'fresh air learning' to improve your mental health and well-being. Why not try this over lunchtime? Maths, Art and Well-Being all in one go!

► AFTERNOON SESSION

STORYTELLER

Listen to the story with Mrs Muddimer.

Then read your own reading book to an adult for up to 30 minutes.

P.E.

Today you will be practising throwing and catching as well as improving your agility.

You might even get quite a bit of tidying up done! (Toys, socks)

How good is your aim? Can you find the target area and score?
