Challenge for Wise Owls
Your task is to identify and underline the 'cious' words in the given text.
"Well, that's not too tricky Ms Hadland" - I hear you say!
Then I would like you to look at how the word has been used in each context/sentence.
In order to show that you understand the true meaning of each word, and that you can use it effectively, interchanging the vocabulary whilst still retaining the correct meaning, I would like you to:
1) replace the cious word with a suitable synonym, then re-write the sentence.
2) list the noun each verb is morphed from e.g. 'malicious' is derived from 'malice.'
You may wish to practise your dictionary skills in order to clarify the definitions.
MAKE SURE you re-read your new sentences out loud, in order to hear if they sound correct. You may need to modify suffixes slightly. 
REMEMBER IT MUST MAKE SENSE.
