This week we will be learning about healthy living with the story Oliver's Vegetables by Vivian French.
I have recorded myself reading the story on Tapestry.
Please listen to the story and talk to your child about the importance of healthy eating and why Oliver only eating chips isn't good for him.
I have attached a video by Dr Ranj below to support this discussion.
Below are some colouring pages which you can use whilst talking about the story.
We have some new sight words to practise today.
Practise reading and writing these words with your child as well as our previously-learnt sight words
Play a game where you write the words down on individual pieces of paper and call out the words for your child to point to. You could then swap and ask your child to say the word and you find it.
This week we are working on our subitising skills.
Subitising is the ability to recognise an amount of objects without having to count them. For example, the spots on a die.
Play a board game which uses a die, first of all looking at the spots on each side and asking if your child can recognise the amount.
If you don't have a game like this at home, I have attached a dice-rolling app below.
