►Phonics
Today we are learning the new phonics sound 'igh'
igh is a trigraph and we say, "three letters, one sound, trigraph".
Watch the video below and then practice writing the sound together.
Focus on trying to get the ascenders and descenders in the right place and the letters sitting on the line.
►Maths
Today we are learning about 'greater than' and 'less than'.
Watch the Numberblocks link which I have attached below and talk to your child about how 'greater than' means 'bigger than'.
Write the < and > signs on a piece of paper and encourage your child to build towers of 1-10 blocks.
Select two towers and ask your child to place the symbol in the correct orientation so that it tracks correctly.
Then show your child a few incorrect examples and ask them to explain why it is wrong.

This week we are starting our new topic of Down at the Bottom of the Garden.
We are starting with learning about Minibeasts.
Watch the video below and talk to your child about the insects and bugs that they know.
Go on a minibeast hunt around your house and garden and draw a picture of each minibeast that you see.
