Good Morning Year 1!  laugh

I am pleased to say you've made it to FRIDAY! Do you know how amazing you are? You have made it to the end of your second week of home learning...Well done!  You are a class of resilient rangers, preserving when things got tough...And look you've made it to the end of the week!

I hope today you continue to work hard at home for your grown-ups. The updates I have received from you all have gone in a super picture gallery below so look out for your pictures there! Please continue to send them to me and if you haven't sent me any yet...Please do!

Revision of the sounds you have looked at this week

Today we will be looking in more detail at the sounds covered this week. On a piece of paper can you write two tricky sentences using the sounds we have looked at this week? You could even draw a pitcture to go with them if you wanted to.

Click the star below if you would like some help with ideas on what to do.

Today we are going to finish writing the story of Little Red Riding Hood in our own words. Our story map had six key events in the story on it and yesterday we wrote up to the part when the Wolf scares Granny away. Today we are going to carry on our story by writing about the last three pictures on our story map.  Do your best writing like you would do if you were in school in a writing lesson. Remember to make it interesting so that when somebody reads it they want to carry on reading! Remember to:

Before you carry on writing, read what you wrote yesterday and remember to re-watch the video and use your story Map from Monday's lesson to help you with remembering what order the events of the story happened in and use the character adjectives you looked at on Tuesday to help you add some extra details and make your sentences more exciting.

I can’t wait to read them! The ones I saw yesterday that were up to picture three were amazing! laugh

Little Red Riding Hood Story from Monday

BLUE WORK - back 1 step challenge

GREEN WORK - regular challenge

PURPLE WORK - forward 1 step challenge

These levels of differentiation, for some pieces of learning, will ensure that your child can access teaching and learning that is pitched correctly for them. If you are not sure which colour to do then please email Miss Martin to check.

Before we begin tody's lesson, we are going to have a flashback Friday to keep some of the skills we learnt in the Autumn term fresh in our brains. Click on the link below to go to the form. Remember to put your name so Miss Martin knows who has done the work.

On a Friday afternoon in Year 1 we have GOLDEN TIME!

I think you will agree with me when I say that this week has been very different to the normal weeks at school, but more than ever I think you have deserved your golden time. Play, be creative, make things, dress up, tell jokes and let your imagination run wild.

Today's story is one that you will know really well! Today's end of the day story is Cinderella.
