Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
On Friday 31st March, the whole school took turns to complete laps of hops in our sponsored Easter hop! Everyone showed their learning power of resilience and they were all persevering and being resilience rangers - especially as we had to adapt as the weather was against us! They showed collaboration and were reciprocity rangers in their class teams. Thank you for sponsoring the children to raise money for our new Read to Write English scheme and books.
On Friday 31st March, Year 4 performed to the whole school and parents/carers. They were amazing and Mr and Mrs Oakland even treated us to a professional performance with the violin and guitar.
On Friday 31st March, the whole school took part in an Easter egg decorating competition. There were some fantastic eggs and everyone worked so hard. Winners from each class were given an Easter egg as a prize. Well done everyone!
On Thursday 30th March, Year 4 and 5 were lucky enough to take part in a presentation on recycling and reusing. They learnt lots about reusing and recycling. We are hoping to start up an Eco club during the summer term to continue our journey to be a greener school.
On Wednesday 22nd March, Year 5 and 6 visited Bethel church in Wigston to learn about the life of Jesus and aspects of Christianity for their RE work. They were all reciprocity rangers, learning from and with each other, and were the best version of themselves.
The children looked great today in their non-uniform with a splash of red. We had some very inventive red noses and lots of wild and bright outfits. We will let you know shortly how much was raised for such a good cause.
The school council had a competition to design a poster to promote anti-bullying. There were lots of great entries. They chose Charlie, in Year 4, as the winner. Charlie received a fabulous book, chosen by the school council, as his prize. Well done to all who entered.
It was fantastic to celebrate books and reading as a whole school on Thursday 2nd March. The children looked fabulous dressed as book characters or in their PJs or onesie. The younger children shared books and reading with the older children in school throughout the day. Lots of children shared their favourite books with staff and each other.
