Practise writing 'y' on whiteboards and then ask the children to write the following words.
yum
yak
yell
yam
The yak and the yam.
If you finish early, go to phonicsplay.co.uk and login using the username ThythornEYFS and the password thythorn. Go to Resources and click Rocket Rescue, Phase 2 and ask the children to write the words to collect the rocket parts.
Maths
Today we are practising our reciting counting in twos to 10.
Ask the children to tell you what the 2s numbers are and record them on the white board.
Remind the children that these numbers odd or even, which one?
Practise counting along 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 a number of times until the children are confident.
Ask them to close their eyes and cover one of the numbers up. Can they identify which one by counting along?
Repeat a few times with different twos numbers until confident.
