ENGLISH - Today we will be using our knowledge from reading about Henry VIII and Elizabeth I to plan our writing of a biography.
FIRST - read the information below about WHAT a BIOGRAPHY actually is...
When we write a biography we try to include certain things in our writing. Here is a 'checklist' to use when beginning sentences and writing...
PLANNING TIME - today I would like you to plan out your biography for EITHER Henry VIII OR Elizabeth I. We will write the biography over the next 3 days.
You need to make sure your layout is:-
► 2 A4 sides in total.
► Include a clear title and introduction of who it is about.
► Have 6 main sections of information about Henry or Elizabeth.
► Each section should have at least 2 clear and interesting sentences.
► Room for drawings for after the writing is complete.
You need to think about and decide what the 6 sections could be about. They could be written as questions for each sub-heading. Here are some suggestions....
1. When was Henry VIII born and when did he reign as king?
2. Who were Henry VIII wives?
So by the end of the lesson, you need to have planned out the layout of your biography with each section neatly created and the sub-headings written in each one.
TOPIC - We have been focusing on Henry VIII and his daughter Elizabeth I in our biography writing. But did you know THE TUDORS began one generation back from Henry VIII with his father Henry VII. Later on this half term we will learn about how Henry VII became king, but today we will look at the TUDOR family tree.
Look carefully at the TUDOR FAMILY TREE...
FRENCH

- 'Voici ma main' - here is my hand
- 'Elle a cinq doigts' - it has 5 fingers
- 'En voici deux' - here are 2
- 'En voici trois' - here are 3
- you do it too and think about what the words mean.
TASK 3 - classroom commands - look at the pictures and match up the command with the images
