Maths

To get your brain in gear log into IR maths (Username children Password thythorn) and play the games in the Year 3 Friday Maths folder.

For the rest of the time we are thinking about Turns and Angles.  Have a look at this picture which explains a bit more:

You could ask someone at home to test you by calling out a turn and seeing if you can turn in the right direction (clockwise or anti-clockwise)  and the correct amount (a quarter turn or 90 degrees etc).

Then have a go at the questions here:

Now open this document to see your Turns challenge for today:

English

Get someone to test you on this week's spellings - how did you do?

This week we are thinking about adding the suffix -ly to certain words...

VE Day

As you know tomorrow is a Bank Holiday to mark the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.  Have a look at this PowerPoint to find out a bit more...

Are you doing anything to celebrate VE Day? You could colour this poster (or make your own) to stick in your window...

Many people celebrated the first VE day by having a street party.  Someone people are still planning to do that this year (although they will have to think about social distancing!).  Can you design your own VE day teacup that people could drink tea out of at a street party?  You can use the template below or just draw your own outline on an A4 piece of paper.  Can you include picture to show something that you have found out about VE day in your design?  Send us a picture of your design and anything else you might be doing to mark VE day.

Class Reading

This week I have come across a lovely story about dragons that I thought you might enjoy...

Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend! Mrs Brewster smiley
