Hello everyone!
Happy April Fool's day...
Has anyone played any fools today... Or worse, been fooled?
I'd love to know what mischief my wonderful Year 4s have been up to!
I've tried to create a great day with lots of different fun challenges;
Maths - Division
English - Egyptian Cinderella
PE - Just Dance!
Topic - Pyramid work
French - Greetings/NowPressPlay
Story time - Humbert the Hungry Baby - The World's Worse Children 2 (https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/)
I hope that you enjoy the learning, please remember to start your day with the Joe Wicks PE lesson and end it with a diary entry about home learning.
For example, mine today (Tuesday) would say
'Dear Diary,
Most of the time, I think to myself, this is so strange and I cannot believe this is happening. But I know it will go down in history, it will be something I will tell children about in the future... I was part of the team that worked in school and had to find a way to teach my class without seeing them. I miss my class a lot, and I am ever so grateful that I am able to hear how they are doing through their parents. Keeping safe is our priority for now... Working from home and not going out.'
Using the partitioning method outlined above, please choose which option you would like to complete.
Option 1
1. 36 ÷ 3 =
2. 48 ÷ 4 =
3. 68 ÷ 4 =
4. 56 ÷ 4 =
5. 84 ÷ 6 =
Option 2
1. 84 ÷ 6 =
2. 96 ÷ 6 =
3. 98 ÷ 7 =
4. 92 ÷ 4 =
5. 104 ÷ 8 =
Re listen to the story 'Egyptian Cinderella', I have re attached the link on this page.
I want you to brainstorm different ideas for a 'Cinderella' story.
I've thought of lots of different ideas,
Football related, princess theme, gymnastics show, birthday party!
Your character can be a 'Cinderella' or a 'Cinderfella'
There will be different things you will need to consider, including;
Who is your 'Cinderella'?
What happened to him/her?
What happy event did he/she want to attend?
What stopped him/her going?
How did he/she get there?
What did he/she leave behind?
How is there a happy ending?
I'd love to see your ideas and this will help us to start writing our own story tomorrow :)
I have included some links to Just Dance/Go Noodle for dance suggestions, if you have the game at home, you may prefer to play on it instead.
Please check with a grown up before you try ANY other songs/dances on YouTube.
Using the items you can find around the house, lego bricks, playing cards, building blocks etc, build your own Pyramid. Remember it must be square based and you'll need to think carefully to ensure that it is stable!
The Ancient Egyptians put a lot of thought into how they built their pyramids, see the video link below to find out more!
