Tuesday 24th March 2020          Go to top of the page to listen to an audio trial message.

Good Morning Year 2. I hope that you had a good day yesterday. I am so glad that the sun was shining and hope that you managed to get some fresh air. Remember to start your day with Joe Wicks , 'The Body Coach', and his online daily PE lesson. I had a go and my legs are aching quite a bit !!

Today's learning

MATHS

  • STARTER - Keep those arithmetic skills going and see if you complete the following addition questions in your exercise book. Copy the questions and work out the answers. Remember you can 'draw to be sure' Here is a reminder on how to work out adding two 2 digit numbers (some children can do this mentally)        23 + 31 =      45 + 43 =            14 + 31 =      50 + 35 =       63 + 22 =       10 + 70 =

                               34 + 34 =      17 + 40 =       21 + 21 =     40 + 50 =

  • Complete page 70 in the school learning pack. Remember we use the signs and <   to compare numbers. Like this 34 > 20       56 <  78        23 = 20 + 3

ENGLISH

  • Complete the next 2 handwriting sheets. One-armed robot letters and zig-zag letters.
  • Read the non-fiction text on page 24. This all about Emperor Penguins which fits in really well with our topic Paws , Claws and Whiskers. Answer the questions on page 25. Remember to keep going back to the text to help you retrieve the answers.
  • Keep practising the Year 1 and 2 common exception words that are on page 127. Choose 5 different Year 1 words and 5 different Year 2 words  and practise spelling them in your exercise book.

COMPUTING

Read page 109 and then complete page 110. Again it's time to explore your house but this time for different examples of technology. I challenge you to find ten examples!

READING

Make sure you read a book today or have a grown-up read you a story. Remember you can go to Oxford Owl and read a book online. Try and remember to record all of your reading in your  diary . I can't wait to see how much reading you have done at home.                 KEEP ON READING !

TODAY'S JOKE
