We are going to be practicing our b's and S' today. Once on the letter join website, please click on easy letters and you will see in the scrolling menu at the bottom letters, please watch how they are formed and then have a go on screen using your mouse. There is also a worksheet to practice too, but you can record these letters on lined paper to show Miss Martin later.

Anti bullying Week 2020 is being held between the 16th and 20th November and is organised by Anti-Bullying Alliance. Today we are going to be looking at what makes a good friend and how we can be a good friend to someone else. Please look through the PowerPoint presentation and complete the worksheet.

Building upon the knowledge from yesterday we will be continuing to subtract by counting backwards today. If you need more guidance, please watch the video again from Monday's lesson.

Today we are going to be refreshing our skills about capital letters and full stops.

 

We are also going to be focusing on our handwriting today through a letter join worksheet. Remember how to form your Curly caterpillar, Zig zag, one armed robot  and Long ladder letters as this will help you to produce your best handwriting.

As we are beginning to learn about the storm whale, today we are going to look at writing a description of where the story is set using adjectives. Remember to use full stops and capital letters in your sentences too. Use the pictures below to write your descriptions. Record your answers on paper so you can show Miss Martin when you return to school.

in RE this week we are going to be learning all about the Muslim celebration of Eid. Please look through the information PowerPoint below and draw around your hand on a piece of paper and create your own Eid mehndi.

Flash back Friday!

 

On a Friday we flash back the previous learning we have done in class so that these skills are fresh and not forgotten although we have moved our learning on.

 

Look through the PowerPoint about place value below and work through the questions with your grown-up.

 

► PHONICS

Revision of the 'ai' 'ee' and 'Igh' sounds.

 

Can you write a list of 5 words for each sound?  Can you draw a picture to match each of the words?

Remember to save them so you can show Miss Martin later.

 

► ENGLISH

Online Safety -

 

In our English lesson today we are going to be using the Now Press Play software to explore the topic of Online safety. You can also do this at home with your grown-ups.

 

How does it work?

  1. Write North, South, East, West on paper and stick one on each wall
  2. Put on wireless headphones (if you have them) if not just play the sound normally from your device.
  3. Stand in the centre of the room and… now press play!
  4. Follow the instructions in the story (Just like in school)
  5. Afterwards have a discussion about the story and what you learnt with your grown-ups.

Once on the webpage you will be asked for a password it is: nowpressplay

 

When you have logged in, please select Years 1-2, and select PSHE (it is a green coloured tab) then you will see the topic of seasons appear down the left side. Click this to display today's lesson. Then when you are ready play the clip by pressing the pink play button. It should look like this:
