Phonics:
Today we are practising writing sentences independently.
I have attached a sound mat below so that the children can sound out the words themselves. Don't worry if they don't use the correct spelling, as long as they have used phonics sounds which fit. E.g. they could write fer instead of fur.
The sentences to write are:
A fox has red fur.
I like the swings at the park.
My mum can hear the birds.
My brother sleeps upstairs.
Maths:
Today we are using Numberblocks to think of different ways to make teens numbers.
Watch the video below and ask you child to select any number from 16-20.
Find this many objects such as pieces of pasta or cubes.
Use the cubes to separate the objects in different ways and write sums to show understanding.
E.g.
16=1+16
16=4+4+4+4
16= 8+8
etc.
