Today we are learning about how Arctic animals keep warm.

 

Watch the video below and then talk about it, pausing the video if necessary.

 

There is another video of baby polar bears which will be interesting for the children to watch and comment on also. Ask the children what a baby polar bear is called before it begins.

Today we are thinking about caption writing.

 

Click on the document below and have that showing on the screen.

 

Show the first picture and ask the children to recite "pat the dog" together.

 

Model writing the caption on the white board and then rub it off, just leaving 'the' for sight word reference. Ask the children to write the caption on their board.

 

Scroll down to the next picture and rehearse "a cat in a hat", model writing this and then rub it out.

 

Continue with more pictures for as long as you have time in the lesson.

Today we are continuing with comparing size.

 

Follow the link and play the game with the children. Ask a child to come and identify each time.
