Thank you for your letters

Hello Year 4! Thank you for the lovely letters so far.
It sounds like so many of you have made the most of the of the half term sunshine.

I am missing you all so much, and hope that you all continue to work hard for Mrs Boyd during the next 6weeks.

Remember you can still send me an update of how you are doing! ☺️
I hope to hear from you all soon...

Miss Kaur

Dear parents/carers,

Today marks the beginning of an new teaching method. I am aware that it is going to be a challenge for you, and want to put your mind at ease, I will be contactable through the day (8am - 5pm), I will where possible give examples of what to expect and consider where changes may need to be made to make the learning accessible from home.

I am aware that a lot of the children like to know the routine for the day, you may have seen the 'visual timetable' I have up in my classroom. I think it is important for you and your child to know what to expect through the day, so please take some time to talk about what you will be doing when, and when they can have breaks.

e.g.

Wake up, get dressed/brush teeth and breakfast as usual.

9.00am - Joe Wick's PE

9.30am - English

10.30am - Free time

11.00am - Maths

12.00pm - Lunch and play

1.00pm - Reading time

1.15pm - Topic

I have included the link for Joe Wick's PE lessons, as I feel that it is critical during this time that the children remain active and are given the opportunity to do so. I also want to stress that I also put a lot of value in the importance of doing a range of different activities, such as gardening, baking, learning a new skill (makaton/sign language) and so on. Please use this time to teach or learn together.

I look forward to hearing from you all,

Miss Kaur

Our Egyptian Day

On Friday Year 4 had an Egyptian themed day. Most of us were dressed up as Egyptian characters. I was a Mummy! We did lots of activities and games. I was in Miss Kaur's group, we had to find chocolate coins in the sand  and we played who can make the best mummy.

After break we swapped over groups. We made an Egyptian eye of Horus out of salt dough and finished our Activity books.
