Click on the link below to watch the short video and then scroll down and have a go at the first activity - Let's exclaim!

EXCLAMATION MARK TASK

In our story James and the Giant Peach the aunts decide to make some money by getting people to buy a ticket so that they can see the peach.

In your book take a new page.

You are going to make a poster to advertise the giant peach using lots of sentences that could use exclamation marks.

Draw the giant peach and then think about the different sentences that you could write. Look at my example below.  I've used 7 exclamation marks! How many will you use?

Here are some useful words too.

giant    massive     huge      enormous     gigantic     fat       colossal

large      peach       world    bigger    biggest     mamouth    great

juicy    amazing     super      fantastic    brilliant  tall    taller

In the story James and the Giant Peach , James meets a group of minbeasts and they become his friends. So

this week we are going to do a little bit of work about minibeasts.

Minibeasts are small animals that belong to the invertebrate group of animals , such as worms , slugs , snails , beetles , spiders and many more.

Watch the clip below and scroll down to do the activities.

Try and remember the word  invertebrate  and what it means.

TASK Go on a minibeast hunt when you are next out or when you are in your garden. Record all the minbeasts you see by drawing them and labelling them. You could even keep a tally if you see lots of one type of minibeast.

You could also take a page in your book and draw pictures of different minibeasts , make sure you label them.

Use the picture below to help you.
