► AFTERNOON SESSION

In order to continue our theme: changes, and highlighting the need to make improvements with the environment we live in, I would like us to focus on:

It is beneficial that we are all recycling far more than people historically did.

What I would like you to do today is:

1) start collecting safe items that could be used for art and craft from your recycling.

2) begin to plan how you can alter an item you already own - ask parents first, but it might be an older piece of clothing which is too small, or is past its best, or a carton or box which you are going to re-create and re-purpose. It could be a good time to de-clutter, clear things out, re-organise and sort!

What else could it be used for? You could become very inventive.

- ooh! I like number 3 and number 4

https://www.reusethisbag.com/articles/creative-recycling-projects - spring is coming - maybe make some plant holders for herbs, or plants in the garden.

https://www.naturespath.com/en-us/blog/19-activities-kids-learn-recycling/

-  a bird's house would be lovely, maybe the twigs could be covered in seed as well!

Would your cat like a new home? Would your dog like a new chew toy?

It has been quite cold - do you know someone who would like a neck warmer?

I rather like this idea:

Today, I would like you to gather ideas and any resources you already have.

Then, sketch and make a draft plan - you may have 2 or 3 ideas before you find the one which sparks a idea within in you!

Next week, you will think about how to construct, join, strengthen and create/build your chosen item.

If you are stumped for ideas do a little research: recycling art and design ideas.

Can you guess what these were made from?

Here's one I like heart and by the end of lockdown I may be able to achieve it!! smiley

Read your reading book for 30 minutes or listen to Mrs Muddimer as storyteller further down the page.

If you listen to Mrs Muddimer now, you need to do your 30 minutes of reading later on.

You can swap the reading sessions around as long as both are carried out!

► NEW! ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY...

Well actually, this is yesterday in history.... for the historians in Year 6, what do you think?
