Watch the Numberblocks video below which demonstrates how numbers can be split up in different ways.
Create your own part-part-whole together and provide your child with 5 objects. Allow them to experiment with different ways to make numbers 3-5.
Phonics
Today we are learning about the 'i' sound.
Show your child 'i' on a piece of paper and ask them to name as many things that they can which begin with 'i'.
Write 'i' on a piece of paper for your child to trace over and then encourage them to write their own letters.
The formation rhyme for 'i' is "down the insect's body, draw the sting and dot for the head."
Once your child is confident, write down the following words and ask them to sound them out and read the words.

sit
pit
pat
tip
Then ask your child to sound them out to write them themselves.
