Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
It was great to have the photographer in school on Friday. All the children looked really smart and took some fabulous photos. It was lovely to see younger siblings in school too. We look forward to the finished results!
It has been a long 9 week half term and the lead has changed often! The winners this half term are Attenborough house with 2550 house points. Townsend house were a close second with 2461 house points. Third were Wan house with 2315 house points (Autumn 1 winners) and Lineker house got 2280 house points. It was a very close term again.
What a busy few weeks of performances!
The children at Thythorn have worked incredibly hard to get ready for their fantastic performances. EYFS performed their nativity, Year 1 and 2 performed 'Baarmy Bethlehem', Year 3 and 4 performed 'Away in a Space Ship' and Year 5 and 6 shared an amazing Carol service, poetry and readings with us at All Saints church.
Thank you to parents/carers/friends and families for being such great audiences. Thank you for your kind donations towards the pantomime.
Have a restful Christmas and we will see you in 2024 on Monday 8th January.
The whole school enjoyed a fabulous performance of Aladdin on Monday afternoon by the visiting theatre group M and M theatrical productions. It was a great atmosphere and the children all got really involved! Thank you to the Friends of Thythorn for paying towards the costs.
It was really great on Wednesday morning to have live piano music performed to us. The children who have been having piano lessons with Mr White performed in front of the whole school and their parents/carers. Mr White also treated us to some great music which included some Christmas tunes!
On Friday 8th December, our Year 3 and 4 football team represented Thythorn in a tournament. They played brilliantly and only lost in the final on penalties. Thy showed great resilience and teamwork. Well done team Thythorn!
We had a fabulous time singing on Tuesday 5th December at the Venue De Montfort University. Lots of primary school from across Leicester and Leicestershire came together for a Winter Song Festival organised by Leicestershire Music Service.
The children all sang beautifully and Tabitha and Hattie read a winter poem as a duo. They were great performers! #proudtobethythorn
It was great to see so many parents/ carers at our community drop in session this morning at school. The event was organised by one of our Governors - Jo Brownsword - along with Safina Jamal who is the local area co-ordinator for public health from Leicestershire County Council.
The session was to promote support and services available locally. We had the following support and advice services in school this morning promoting how they can help our community -
Go Learn Leicestershire
Health Watch Leicester
Life Links
Helping Hands
King's Centre

It was great to see so many children in their own clothes last Friday to celebrate Children in Need day 2023. Lots of children wore Pudsey ears and some even forgot to get dressed and had PJs and onesies on!
Thank you for working together to raise £132.92 for a great charity.
It was great to share our odd socks today - Monday 13th November - to start Anti-Bullying Week 2023 and embrace our differences. The theme of this year's week is 'Make some noise about bullying.' We launched with an assembly today to look at how we can all support each other here at Thythorn Field. We embrace and respect our differences as we are an 'Everyone's Welcome' school. This means we learn about and embrace the 9 protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010
Can you spot your socks?
